COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio Supreme Court on Tuesday denied a request by East Cleveland city officials to reconsider a previously decided case awarding $12 million to two people struck by a police cruiser during a 2008 chase. The denial was just one sentence, signed by Chief Justice Sharon Kennedy. The city asked for reconsideration Feb. 15 after losing the case at the Ohio Supreme Court that same day. That's when court unanimously granted an order to compel the payment, plus pre- and post-judgement interest.
